About Katie
Katie Matlin, MPP, is a strategic public policy and advocacy professional with over 20 years of experience leading initiatives focused on child health, public health, healthcare advocacy, and nonprofit strategy.
She previously served at the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she led and supported state and national advocacy initiatives related to firearm injury prevention, children’s mental health, school health policy, suicide prevention, nutrition and food security, and children & technology policy.
Katie has extensive experience advising executive leaders, physicians, advocacy coalitions, and nonprofit organizations on policy development, legislative strategy, stakeholder engagement, and public-facing communications. She is recognized for translating complex policy issues into practical advocacy solutions and building collaborative partnerships that advance meaningful systems change.
She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
